Postal Stamps

At first I didn’t know what I wanted to do, I stuck with designs for “Get out to Vote” initiatives.

I then started my own research on Indigenous people day and fell into the loophole of Indigenous legends, how symbolic certain animals and prints were.

After feedback, I realized how many indigenous folklores have been incorporated into american culture… in a way where we twisted the original meaning. Because of this, I trashed my 3rd stamp design, as it would have been associated with “witchcraft” and satanic rituals.

Each element in the stamps tell a story of injustice for indigenous tribes and a story of folklore, let me know if you can guess what it is :) I’d love to hear.
